Learn how to draw expressive and captivating figures using charcoal. I’ll be sharing my entire drawing process, and explaining every stage, step by step so that you can follow along. You’re invited to draw along with me, ask questions, and share your work - or just watch the demonstration. After the event, you will receive a high-definition recording - with captions - of the workshop.

• Do I need to have my camera turned on?

  No it is not necessary to have your camera enabled but it is always more pleasant to see faces.

• What if I experience internet problems?

  Don’t worry if you miss out on the interactive part of the workshop, all participants will receive a recording of the event.

• Will I need to speak?

  You are encouraged to ask questions, but you do not need to speak if you do not want to.

• What if I don't want to use charcoal?

  Many of the topics and ideas I will discuss are applicable to other mediums but to get the most out of the workshop I would recommend using the materials listed above.

• Is a reference image provided?

  Yes, I will send you a reference image a few days before the date of the workshop.

• Will I need to print out the reference image?

  If you can easily see the reference and it is not too far from your drawing surface then no, it is not necessary to print the reference image out.

• I have never used charcoal before, can I still join?

  Absolutely - no experience necessary! I will explain the charcoal drawing techniques, step by step, so that you can follow along.

• What if I can't get all the suggested materials?

  Just try to get the paper and charcoal :)

• What if my English is not very good?

  Zoom has a beta feature that allows users to enable automated captions in many different languages. Please see this article for more information.

• Will I need to show my work?

  Showing your work is encouraged but it is not required if you do not want to.

• I'm not confident at drawing the human body, can I still join?

  Yes! This workshop will greatly help you with drawing the human figure.
